***SXSW Media Alert*** Where to Find Harmonix, MTV Games and MTV at SXSW® 2010 Harmonix to Demo Newly Launched Rock Band Network
Harmonix, the world’s leading developer of music-based games, MTV Games and MTV, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), are headed to SXSW® 2010 – South by Southwest. Harmonix will be showing off the recently launched Rock Band Network – the ground-breaking music initiative that gives musicians, publishers and record labels the ability to author their original recordings into gameplay files to promote and sell as playable tracks in the Rock Band™ music video games. In addition, Harmonix, MTV Games and MTV are set to participate in three SXSW 2010 panels, including “Playing the Soundtrack,” which brings gamers and musicians together to discuss the world of music in gaming, “Reaching Your Audience on Their Terms,” which will discuss MTV’s response to the changing music environment and “CrowdControl: Changing The Face of Media or Hype” which focuses on the global impact of social media.
