BIG JAY OAKERSON ANNOUNCES SEVERAL STAND-UP PERFORMANCE DATES IN NEW YORK, SAN FRANCISCO, SACRAMENTO, AND MORE!

CATCHING BIG JAY PERFORMING AT THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL NOW!

Queens, NY native Big Jay Oakerson is pleased to announce a brand new set of stand-up comedy dates! Big Jay will be visiting many locations such as Kansas City, KS, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, and Sacramento, CA! See below for all current dates! Big Jay will also be performing for the remainder of the summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival! He will be introducing bands in between sets, performing his hysterical brand of comedy, as well as walking around and interacting with the crowd.

Comedian Big Jay Oakerson currently has a new full length, digital-only album, An American Storyteller on COMEDY CENTRAL Records. Oakerson’s story-based style of stand-up comedy got its start after a series of dead-end jobs, including driving strippers and escorts around his hometown of Philly. Now the New York City resident has made comedy his full-time job, flooring audiences with true tales of odd threesomes and bizarre sexual encounters. An American Storyteller, recorded at Standup New York, is a one-hour onslaught of unbridled awesomeness and raunchy rock ‘n’ roll hilarity.

Comedian Oakerson has emerged as one of the most sought after attractions in the industry. Only a ten year veteran, a youngling in the world of stand-up, Oakerson has already performed at two of the most prestigious festivals in the business, the “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival in Montreal and the HBO “U.S. Comedy Arts Festival” in Aspen, CO.

Oakerson is currently starring on the hit IFC show “Z-Rock,” where he received critical acclaim for his performance as “Neil”, the sexually ambiguous owner of a NYC rock club. His television credits include COMEDY CENTRAL’s “Premium Blend” and “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” multiple appearances on BET’s “Comic View” and P. Diddy’s “Bad Boys of Comedy” on HBO. Oakerson can also be seen hosting Spike’s “Movies On TAP” with Patrice O’Neal.

U.S. SCREENINGS OF ANIMAL COLLECTIVE S ODDSAC ANNOUNCED CHICAGO, MINNEAPOLIS, LA, SAN FRANCISCO, PORTLAND, AND SEATTLE DATES ALL SCREENINGS WILL FEATURE Q&A WITH DIRECTOR DANNY PEREZ AND MEMBERS OF ANIMAL COLLECTIVE ODDSAC DVD SET FOR JUNE 29, 2010 RELEASE

ODDSAC is a feature film collaboration between the band Animal Collective and filmmaker Danny Perez. The film was co-conceived by and stars Animal Collective, whose 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion was named album of the year by SPIN, Entertainment Weekly, and Pitchfork, and topped critic s end of year lists worldwide. ODDSAC is a dense and surreal layering of audio and visual elements that eschews conventional narrative to create a visceral, immersive experience.

ODDSAC features an original score with new songs from the band and complex digital manipulation by Perez, a debut filmmaker and visual artist known for his concert projections with musicians such as Black Dice and Panda Bear. ODDSAC represents a new synthesis of music and film, a visual album” whose songs will not be released in any other form. ODDSAC is the result of over four years of intense collaboration between Perez and the band. “It was meant to be an open-ended operation of audio-video synthesis, the passing back and forth of visuals and sound so that each would inform the other and create an organic structure,” said Perez.

Director Danny Perez

Visual artist Danny Perez s evolving aesthetic is informed by a mutated sense of rhythm and the relationship between sound and image. He unique visual constructions have screened at galleries and museums worldwide and in conjunction with touring bands like Black Dice. His debut feature ODDSAC is a collaboration with the band Animal Collective and a visionary visual album and their de-facto new album.

Danny was born in Washington, DC and currently resides in Philadelphia. He graduated from NYU in 2002. Danny is currently developing his next feature, which he calls a cross between Bully, Altered States, and Evil Dead.

Animal Collective

Animal Collective is a band originally from Baltimore, Maryland, currently based in Lisbon, DC, NYC and Baltimore.
